Description
This is a 19th-century agricultural range located at Pen-y-bont, aligned northeast-southwest. It features a lofted cartshed at the southwest end and stables to the right. The building is constructed from mortared rubble masonry, with larger stones used at the base of the walls, as quoins, and for lintels. It has a slate roof with coping, and a stack with dripstones and capping at the southwest gable.
The cartshed section includes two wide bay doors at the right end, which have segmental stone voussoirs and dripcourses above them. There are small paned windows set under the eaves above the center of each bay. Some of the doors have been partially blocked to create smaller doorways and adjacent windows on the left side.
The stable range on the right gable is at a lower level and features one door with asymmetrically flanking windows in the original section, along with an additional door in an extension at the far right. A modern breeze block addition is present at the junction of the two ranges.
The interior was not inspected during the survey conducted in June 2004.
