Description
This is a first-quarter 19th century terrace of four town houses, part of a group at Nos. 37-43 Tegid Street, and incorporating associated railed forecourts. The terrace is built of local rubble with a continuous slate roof and has three large stone chimney stacks, the central one being smaller than those on either side. The design aims for overall symmetry across nine bays, with each house occupying two bays (entrance and window), except for No. 39, which comprises three bays. The left-hand window of No. 39 marks the central bay of the group; to its left is the entrance to No. 41, followed by two window bays, and finally the entrance to No. 43 occupies the left-hand end bay. No. 37, at the right-hand end, has a separate outer entrance alongside an additional window above. The ground floor windows have elegant 15-pane sashes, while those above have 12 panes. Original two-panel doors remain, except at No. 43 where a modern replacement is present; rectangular overlights retain original marginal glazing. Low rubble forecourt walls support simple iron railings, although these are modern replacements at No. 37. The interior was not inspected.
