Description

This is a late 19th-century terrace of four town houses, likely built in the 1880s. The houses are of roughcast brick construction with a continuous slate roof and two large rendered stacks. The terrace is arranged symmetrically, comprising two reflected pairs, with each house having two bays – an entrance and a window. The two central houses have paired entrances, while the flanking houses have single entrances. All entrances are round-arched with plain overlights, and have 20th-century doors except for number 34, which has a 6-panel door with upper glazed panels. The original 4-pane sashes are present to all three floors, with the upper-floor windows being smaller and set within gables. The central pair of houses has plain bargeboards, while the outer pair has simply-decorated bargeboards with wooden finials. All windows except that of number 40 have returned stucco labels, which extend continuously over the central paired entrances. A shaped, arched decorative stucco tablet (blind) with supporting brackets is centrally placed above these entrances. The interior was not inspected. The property forms a group with numbers 34-40 Tegid Street.
