Description

This is an early 19th century terrace of four town houses on Tegid Street, part of a larger group including numbers 37 to 43, with associated forecourt walls and railings. The terrace is built of local rubble stone with a continuous slate roof which juts out significantly. There are three large stone chimney stacks; the central stack is smaller than those on either side. The terrace has a near-symmetrical arrangement over nine bays, with each house originally consisting of two bays (one for the entrance and one for a window), except for number 39, which has three bays. The left-hand window of number 39 marks the central bay of the terrace; to its left is the entrance to number 41, followed by two bays of windows, and finally the entrance to number 43 occupies the left-hand end bay. Number 37, located at the right-hand end of the terrace, has a recessed entrance with an additional window above. The ground floor windows have elegant 15-pane sashes, and those above have 12 panes. The original two-panel doors remain, except at number 43, where a modern door has been installed. The original rectangular overlights feature original marginal glazing. The low rubble forecourt walls are topped with simple iron railings, although these have been replaced at number 37. The interior of the houses was not inspected.
