Description
Capel Seilo is a simple Calvinistic Methodist chapel built in 1878, situated on a platform levelled from the hillside. Constructed of stone that is rendered and lined out, it features a slate roof. The chapel, which accommodates 130 people, has a main gabled front facing west. This front includes two boarded doors with round fanlights and two round-headed windows between them, with all the joinery having been renewed. The pediment above contains an arched niche with a slate slab inscribed "SEILO A.D. 1878." The side elevations are unrendered and have three similar windows. An ample forecourt is enclosed by stone walls.
Inside, the roof consists of three bays, with the trusses ceiled at collar level and finished with acoustic tiles. The chapel has slate window sills and a small pulpit. The interior underwent significant modernization around 1978 and features a carpeted floor.
