Description
Morfa is a two-storey dwelling built of stone rubble and whitewashed, featuring an old grouted slate roof that is coped at the southwest end. The house has three bays and includes a lean-to outbuilding on the rear southwest side, along with a service range that aligns with the main structure. The front of the house is symmetrical, with gable end stacks. It has a central modern glazed door and four-pane sash windows, with smaller similar windows on the first floor just below the eaves. The rear also has small windows, including those on either side of the lean-to dairy. The lower service building to the northwest has similar windows, including a 12-pane horizontal sliding sash window on the front and a gable end stack.
Inside, the interior has been altered but still features transverse ceiling beams with small ogee mouldings. There are open fireplaces with ovens and fire beams, as well as a curved recess beside the fireplace in the extension for a boiler. The first floor is ceiled at collar level, and the roof rafters were renewed in the earlier 20th century. The upper floor of the service range, known as the lloft gleision, was historically used for composing and reading poetry for the village of Trefor.
