Description

Elernion is a house that has been divided into two separate tenancies. It is constructed from uncoursed and whitewashed stone rubble on boulder foundations, topped with slate roofs. The building has two storeys and features a fragmentary 2-bay north-south block with a prominent lateral stack located centrally on its east side. Attached to the south gable end is another 2-bay north-south block, which is offset to the east, along with an east-west block set in the angle to the west, with a lean-to room positioned between this block and the main stack.

The earlier block includes a small square bay window and a large stone stack with diagonal shafts that project at the rear. The roof, which dates from 1801, includes a rooflight at the rear. The main entrance door is located on the left side (south) and is accompanied by 4-pane sash windows. The south block features a small inserted cellar at the north end, large metal-framed and uPVC windows, and gable stacks. There are projecting stones embedded in the walls, some of which may have been used as mounting aids.

At the rear of the south block, there is a small paned window on the upper floor, along with a later single-storey and attic range positioned at right angles, as well as additional lean-to structures. The large fireplace associated with the main stack has been infilled with a late 19th-century fireplace. Inside the cellar, there are light recesses and the base of a large circular stair located in the southwest corner of the block.
