Description
The Long Barn Range at Llwyndu, which includes an attached Small Range at the southern end, is a two-storey structure built from rubble with a slate roof and gable parapets. The northern gable end features steps leading up to a square-headed doorway that provides access to a former hayloft. The western side, which faces the house, has modern boarded doors and small windows, including 4-pane modern casements. There are two vertical breaks visible on the right side, indicating 19th-century alterations and additions to this range. A modern storeyed extension is located at the far right. Inside, the northern three bays are separated from the rest of the building by a full-height wall.
The lower range, positioned at right angles at the southern end, is believed to be earlier, possibly from the 17th century. It is also constructed from rubble and features a roof that is partly covered with corrugated iron and partly with slate, along with gable parapets. The western gable has a row of projecting stones that create a thin ledge at its base. There are two doorways on the northern side; the one on the right serves as a cart entrance with a timber lintel and boarded doors, while the left entrance has a modern boarded door. An early 19th-century 9-pane fixed casement window is slightly recessed in the earlier window embrasure on the eastern gable. The roof consists of three bays with undulating collars.
