Description
Llwyndu Guest House is a 2-storey building constructed of rubble with a slate roof. It features plain kneelered rubble gable parapets and tall end chimneys, with the right chimney having contemporary stone capping and the left chimney featuring a 19th-century upper section. The facade is rendered and whitened, displaying later irregular fenestration. On the first floor, there are three recessed 12-pane sash windows, and to the extreme left, there is a narrow original window with an off-set timber mullion. The ground floor has modern small-paned windows, along with a narrow masonry projection beside the left window. An off-centre pitched-roofed modern porch covers the original crude arched entrance, which includes a 19th-century boarded arched door with an arched 3-pane top light. The property has curved forecourt walls and similar small original windows on the gable ends, with the right gable featuring later buttressing. At the rear, there is a cross-range, likely from the mid-19th century, with a rendered gable end and stone stepped access to the first floor. A boarded door on the left gable leads to the remains of the originally internal stone newel stair to the hall.
Inside, there is a cross-passage with a modern post-and-panel screen, leading to a hall on the left and a parlour on the right. Both rooms have deep inglenook fireplaces and newel stairs, with the stair to the hall being blocked. The ceilings feature stopped-chamfered beams. There is a narrow 19th-century dog-leg stair, now boxed-in beside the passage. The upper left room has a fireplace bressummer with an adjacent garderobe within the thickness of the stack.
