Description

Bodloesygad is a one-and-a-half storey, three-bay house built of rubble, featuring a modern slate roof with slightly swept eaves and a pronounced boulder plinth. The house has end chimneys and an off-centre cross-passage plan. The entrance is regional, with a large arched opening made of rubble voussoirs and a recessed, part-glazed modern door. There are flanking recessed windows; to the left is a small, square original light, while to the right is a nine-pane fixed window with one opening pane and whitewashed reveals. The upper floor has two gabled dormers with modern casement windows and plain bargeboards. The rubble stacks are reduced and have weather-coursing. At the rear, there is a small 19th-century sash window that is deeply recessed, along with two modern casements. A small original light is located to the far right, similar to the one at the front, and has a pegged oak frame. There is also a small rear cross-passage entrance with voussoirs and a pointed-arched head.

Inside, the layout remains remarkably intact, with the entrance opening onto the cross passage, which was originally only partitioned from the parlour and service rooms to the left. The division between these two rooms has been removed. The parlour features reeded ceiling beams, while the service room ceiling is undecorated. The former hall has a large fireplace with modern fittings, a flagged floor, and reeded ceiling beams, along with chamfered main beams. A winding stone stair with a low cambered timber arch at the top leads to a landing, with timber partitions and boarded doors. The collar and tie beam trusses have been restored and feature heavily-pegged principals.
