Northern Cottage at Home Farm

Northern Cottage at Home Farm is a two-storey house and former dairy built in a T-plan layout, featuring a projecting gabled range to the right that extends to the rear. The building is constructed from a mix of irregularly coursed and regularly coursed rubblestone, topped with a slate roof that has projecting verges and carved purlin ends.

The long range includes a wrap-around lean-to verandah supported by wooden posts with carved brackets. This verandah features glazed double doors in the gable end, along with a three-light window with 24 panes at the center of the front wall. To the right, there is a six-panel door positioned at the angle with the projecting range, and a narrow window at the apex of the gable end.

The projecting range has a casement window on the first floor and a canted bay window on the ground floor, which contains a two-light window with 16 panes in the center and flanking windows with eight panes each. A prominent stone ridge stack is located on the rear range, close to where it joins the main range. The verandah features a slate slab floor. The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.
