Description
The entrance gates at Nanhoron are an off-centre pair, flanked by cast-iron gate piers. Each pier is topped with an urn finial that rests on a square domed base, which is pierced. The urns feature lion mask handles and a fret frieze. The front sides of the piers are adorned with a pierced banded frieze, and below this is a design that includes vertically interlinked ovals and diagonal lines, with plain vertical bars at the base. The railings curve upwards to meet the gate piers on either side. On the left and right of the main gate piers, there are pairs of smaller flat piers that are similarly decorated but topped with tiny 18th-century style urn finials. To the east, these smaller piers flank a small gate next to the entrance lodge.
