Description
Nos 3 and 4 Bryn Eglwys in Llandygai are a pair of estate cottages, each designed as a single-storey building with a two-room layout and a loft, aligned east-west. The cottages are constructed from regularly coursed and dressed rubblestone blocks, with the left gable end painted and the right rendered, topped by a slate roof.
Each cottage features a mirrored arrangement of two- and three-light windows, complete with slate cills and voussoirs above slightly cambered heads, positioned on either side of central entrances. The left cottage (No. 3) has a 20th-century half-glazed door, while the right cottage (No. 4) now has a 20th-century window set in boarded infill. Both cottages have integral end stacks, with a larger shared stack in the center, and gable end windows that light the lofts. Notably, No. 3 has been significantly extended at the rear.
The interior was not inspected during the survey.
