Description
6 Bryn Eglwys is part of a group of three single-storey cottages located in Llandygai, designed in a simple 'vernacular revival' style. The cottages feature attics in gabled wings that project on either side of a lower central range. They are constructed from roughly coursed rubblestone with slate-stone lintels and have a slate roof with overhanging verges and carved purlin ends.
The symmetrical front of the cottages has a layout of 1:3:1 bays, with the gables displaying 3-light windows on the ground floor and 2-light windows above. The original window openings now contain 20th-century windows, flanking the central entrance of No. 6, which has a 20th-century glazed door. The entrances to Nos. 5 and 7 are accessed through slate slab gabled porches on the outer returns.
Prominent red brick ridge stacks with stepped capping are located to the left and right of the central range, with shorter integral stacks at the rear gable ends of the gabled ranges. The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.
