Description
The high dam wall located to the southwest of the former Felin Fawr Slate Works is constructed from large slate blocks. The wall is roughly coursed and slightly battered, following a gentle curve across the valley floor. It features two cast-iron sluices and a brick-lined spillway in the center. At the base of the dam, there are remains of four cast-iron pipes that are partially supported on a stone causeway, which once directed water downstream to different areas of the slate works site.
