Description
The Water Mill and Wheel House at Felin Fawr Slate Works is a simple, low building with a rectangular plan, oriented roughly north-south. It features a small lower addition with a hip roof attached to the north end, and both the main building and the addition have hipped slate roofs with projecting boarded eaves. The west side of the main range has doorways on the left and right, flanking a central wide doorway, all of which are under long slate lintels and were blocked at the time of inspection. The addition at the north end has an infilled doorway on its west side. There is also a lean-to structure on the east side of the main range. Inside, the building retains a 26-foot (7.9-meter) cast-iron water wheel from 1906, which is set low in the wheelpit.
