Tanysgafell

Nos 3 and 4 Tanysgafell in Llandygai are a symmetrical pair of single-storey cottages, each with two rooms. They are built from slate-hung rubblestone and topped with a slate roof. Each cottage has a central entrance, originally featuring an open hip-roofed slate porch. This porch is flanked by small hip-roofed canted bays with slate cills, which are supported by carved slate brackets. The right cottage, No. 3, has horizontal sliding sash windows with leaded latticed lights, while the left cottage, No. 4, has replacement plastic windows. Both cottages have a slate slab end chimney and a ridge stack, all featuring stepped capping and slate-sheeted bases, except for the ridge stack on No. 4, which has been rebuilt. At the rear, there is a continuous single-storey lean-to. No. 3 includes a 20th-century porch with a half-glazed outer door and a fully glazed inner door, while No. 4 has a 20th-century outer door leading to its porch. These cottages belong to a group of two.
