Description

Nos 5 and 6 Tanysgafell in Llandygai are a symmetrical pair of single-storey cottages, each with two rooms. They are built from slate-hung rubblestone and topped with a slate roof. Each cottage features a central entrance with an open hip-roofed slate porch. Flanking the porches are small hip-roofed canted bays, each with slate cills supported by carved slate brackets and a 4-paned window at the front. Both cottages have a slate slab end chimney and a ridge stack, all featuring stepped capping and slate-sheeted bases. At the rear, there is a continuous single-storey lean-to. The left cottage, No. 6, has been extended to the left and includes a 20th-century stained French window in its front wall. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
