Description
Offis Fawr, now known as the Woodcraft Centre, is a high single-storey building with a double-depth plan consisting of two parallel ranges that are roughly aligned east-west. It features a continuous slate-roofed verandah along the north and east sides. The exterior is constructed of snecked rock-faced rubblestone, with tooled granite quoins and other decorative stonework. The gable-ended slate roofs have slate coping and fretted bargeboards, which include carved pendants and finials.
The east elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a central four-panel door flanked by 12-paned sash windows set in quoined surrounds, one for each range. These are located under a lean-to verandah supported by cast-iron columns that have decorated spandrels. On the north side, the verandah continues over three 16-paned sash windows, designed similarly to those on the east side. There are two regularly spaced stacks behind the ridge, featuring stone bases with octagonal brick shafts and stone capping. The verandah also includes large rooflights similar to those on the east side. In front of the verandah, there is a slate-stone retaining wall topped with fleur-de-lys pointed iron railings.
The south elevation has four 16-paned sash windows, with one on the left and three grouped together on the right. The ridge stack to the left is detailed similarly to those on the north side but has paired shafts.
The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey but is reported to have been much remodelled, with panelled window shutters noted as a retained feature.
