Description

Hafodty is a substantial two-story building, likely dating from the 18th century. The main section is oriented roughly north-south with its main west-facing elevation, and it is adjoined by a long, lower range set at a right angle to the east. This eastern section serves as service quarters. The exterior is predominantly rendered rubblestone, with a small area of exposed rubble towards the rear of the service range. The roofs are slate, with a hipped southern end to the main range, sloping over the attached range.

The main west-facing elevation has three bays, featuring a large full-height gable on the left, a smaller gable breaking the eaves in the centre, and a gable associated with the right-angled range on the right. Four-pane sash windows are found on the first floor and in the central ground floor bay. Large French windows with 12 panes are situated to the left and right of the ground floor. A tall integral end stack is present on the left, and a ridge stack is located to the left of the central gable.

The south-facing return of the right-angled range has three sash windows on the first floor, with six panes to the left and sixteen panes in the centre. Integral lateral stacks are visible, one with a tall stone shaft on the left and another with a stone ridge stack to the right of the centre. An integral end stack with paired and rebated brick shafts is set into the right gable end. A lower projecting gable is located between the centre and right windows, and a late 20th-century lean-to conservatory runs along the remainder of the range to the left.

The interior of the building was not accessible at the time of survey.
