Description
Tan-y-marian is a 2-storey building with a rectangular plan and a symmetrical 3-bay façade, constructed of roughcast rubblestone and slate-hung on the left side. It features a hipped slate roof with a short ridge. The front has 12-paned sash windows, with the ground floor windows having segmental heads, all equipped with slate cills. The central entrance consists of a 6-panel door, which is divided into two sections, located beneath a flat-roofed timber porch that has latticed work on the sides. There are prominent rectangular chimney stacks on the roof slope to both the left and right.
Inside, there is a large central hall that includes the original staircase, which has stick balusters, an open string, a turned and radiating bottom newel, and a moulded handrail. The interior also features 6-panel doors and panelled window shutters. At each end wall, there are 2-storey lean-tos, with the one on the right being larger and containing 16-paned horizontal sliding sash windows on each floor.
