Description
This is a single-storey former smallholder's or labourer's cottage, built in a three-room plan and aligned roughly north-south. The exterior features irregularly coursed rubblestone with boulder quoins at the north-east corner, and the roadside wall of the southern part is rendered. The cottage has a slate roof.
On the front, or roadside, there is an infilled doorway to the right, flanked by an infilled window on the left and a two-light, 12-paned casement window to the right. A similar window is located at the right end of the rendered section. There is a brownish brick ridge stack offset to the left and a nine-paned loft window on the right gable end, which mirrors the roadside windows with its timber lintel.
Attached to the right gable end is a single-storey lean-to that features a plank door on the end wall and a boarded ventilator with a six-paned window on the front, complete with a slate cill and lintel. The rear of the cottage includes a timber lean-to porch flanked by windows. Additionally, there is another lean-to protruding at the right end of this wall, along with a larger lean-to on its right that extends beyond the south gable end of the cottage; its high wall is visible but set back from the road.
The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey.
