Description
Tan-yr-allt Cottages consists of a symmetrical pair of single-storey cottages, known as Nos 1 and 2, located in the Llanllechid Community. Built in the vernacular revival style favored by the Penrhyn Estate, these cottages feature two rooms each and lofts. They are made of coursed rubblestone, with voussoirs above the slightly cambered window and door heads on the front elevation, while the gable ends are rendered. The cottages have a slate roof, which includes two small modern roof lights at the front and rear.
Each cottage has a central entrance, with the right cottage (No.1) featuring a 20th-century panelled door and the left cottage (No.2) having a boarded door. The entrances are flanked by 2- and 3-light windows with 12 and 18 panes respectively, all with slate cills. Both cottages have integral end stacks and a shared ridge stack in the center, all rendered and topped with stepped capping. There is a 20th-century flat-roofed extension at the back, which extends beyond the gable end of each cottage. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
