Description
Turnpike House is a single-storey pentagonal building dating from the 20th century, featuring a splayed end facing the road. It is constructed from painted regularly coursed rubblestone blocks and has a graded slate roof. The splayed end includes 20th-century windows set in original openings, with slate cills on the sides and a blind panel in the center that once displayed a toll board. There is a roughcast ridge stack located near the splayed end. The entrance is on the left side, accessed through a 20th-century glazed door, and there is also a 20th-century flat-roofed addition on this side. A painted board at the eaves on the splayed end features a pointing hand and reads "LLANLLECHID 2 1/2". The interior was not accessible during the survey.
