Description
Tan-y-lon is a symmetrical single-storey pair of two-room cottages with lofts, built in the vernacular revival style favored by the Penrhyn Estate. The cottages are made of coursed rubblestone, featuring voussoirs above slightly cambered windows and doors on the front elevation, while the gable ends are roughcast. They have a slate roof with overhanging verges and carved purlin ends. Each cottage has a central entrance flanked by two- and three-light windows with 12 and 18 panes, respectively, and slate cills. The left cottage (No. 7) has lost its glazing bars. Both cottages feature boarded doors beneath bracketed lean-to hoods. There are integral end stacks and a shared ridge stack at the center, with the left and ridge stacks also roughcast. Loft windows are present in the gable ends, and there are single-storey lean-tos at the back. The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.
