Description
Anchorage View consists of two three-storey houses, originally part of a larger terrace. The houses are constructed from rough-dressed rubble with modern slate roofs and simple eaves. A rubble gable parapet is present on the left-hand side of number 1, while both units have gable end chimneys and a central chimney that is shared, and are weather-coursed. Modern skylights are visible on number 1, with two smaller skylights on number 2. The facades are symmetrical and mirror each other. Recessed central entrances feature Victorian four-panelled doors with some glazing. Simple, single-storey open porches are supported by plain columns and have plain entablatures and moulded cornices; the porch to number 2 has plain glazed return sides. Each floor originally had three windows, with near-flush twelve-pane sashes on the ground and first floors, and nine-pane sashes above. Projecting stone lintels are present above the windows. Most windows in number 2 are original, with the exception of the upper glazing on the right-hand side of the first floor. Number 1 has one Victorian four-pane sash on the top floor to the left, and five modern plastic windows designed to imitate sashes; the remaining windows are original.
