Description
Gwellyn is a Regency house dating from the early 19th century. It has two storeys with an attic and features four bays. The exterior is rendered and topped with a slate roof that has bracketed eaves and two ridge stacks. The house has an L-shaped plan due to a rear wing, which likely contained service rooms.
The front of the house is symmetrically arranged, with a shallow bow in the central bays and wider gabled outer bays. The central entrance is set within an advanced gabled porch, which is flanked by a continuous veranda that has a hipped slate roof supported by corner posts. On each floor, there are 12-pane sash windows on either side of the porch, as well as similar windows in the outer bays, which are paired on the left-hand gable. The shallow gables on the sides feature an oculus and a small round-headed window on both the left and right. The rear of the main house has sash windows on the right and blocked windows on the left.
The property has been modernised and converted into flats.
