Leithen House, Leithen Road, Innerleithen

Leithen House is a Regency style house built in 1828, with alterations made in 1967. It is a two-storey, five-bay structure with a symmetrical rectangular plan and a piended roof. The central bays are slightly advanced, featuring later decorative ironwork trellis balconettes and a door surround. The exterior is finished in painted render, with painted stone window margins and margined quoins. There is a small chamfered window on the rear upper left and carved stone carriage bollards at the northern corners. A small piended porch from the late 20th century is located at the rear.

The house predominantly features 12-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows, with lying panes on the ground floor. The rear has 20th century timber casements. The entrance door is a two-leaf timber design. The roof is covered in grey slate with concrete ridges, and there is a small wallhead stack at the rear. Cast-iron rainwater goods are also present.
