Description
Swn y Gloch was formerly two single-storey cottages. The right-hand cottage is rendered and painted white, featuring a slate roof with a tall rendered stack on the right. It has a half-glazed split boarded door and a gabled canopy supported by re-used wooden chair legs acting as brackets. The windows are small 16-pane horizontal sliding sashes. To the left, set back and with a lower roof line, is a link added between the two cottages in 1976, which contains two similar small-pane sash windows. The left-hand cottage, previously known as Garden Cottage, is larger, with pebble-dashed walls, a slate roof, and a rendered stack on the left set diagonally. It has a brick porch with a half-glazed door, a 20th-century panelled door inside, and flanking late 20th-century windows. A modern extension was added on the right in 1966. The rear of each cottage has inserted windows, and the left-hand cottage features a flat-roof rear projection. The right-hand cottage is now a single room open to the roof, supported by a single truss with a broad collar beam.
