Description
Ty Cefn is an early 19th century cottage with a lofted two-unit plan, featuring a single-storey lean-to added to the right (northeast) end. The cottage is constructed from local rubble masonry, with the front and end walls finished in pebbledash render. It has a roof covered with old small slates, and low raking dormers on the front that rise from the eaves. The gable stacks are rendered and include dripstones and capping. The lean-to has a corrugated iron roof.
The entrance elevation faces southeast and opens onto a small enclosed yard. The façade has a two-window arrangement with a doorway situated between the windows. The ground floor windows are four-pane sashes, while the dormers feature hornless sashes. There is a single casement light on the right (northeast) return and a blocked doorway at the rear. The lean-to includes a boarded door. The building was not inspected at the time of resurvey.
