Description
Rhoscolyn Methodist Chapel house is a 2-storey building featuring a 2-window main range and a 2-storey 2-window wing at the northeast end, which continues the building line. Attached to this is a linear range consisting of lofted stables and a cartshed. The main house and wing are likely constructed from rubble and are pebble-dashed rendered, topped with a slate roof that has rendered end stacks on the main part. The windows are slightly recessed sashes with glazing bars and slate sills; the main part has a 2-window range with a central doorway, and the wing also has a 2-window range with a doorway at the right end, while the rear features modern lights.
The lofted stables and cartshed are built of rubble and have a slate roof with a rendered ridge stack at the northeast end. This range has a 3-window configuration with sash windows on the first floor, and the ground floor includes stable doors at the northeast end and a doorway leading to stairs at the southwest end.
The stairs at the southwest end of the stable and cartshed range lead to an upper storey that houses a full-length schoolroom. The northeast end of the schoolroom is raised by one step and is separated from the main area by a screen made of recessed panelling below and turned balusters above, topped with a moulded rail. The entrances are highlighted by turned newel posts, and the schoolroom retains its original bench seats.
