Description
Rhoscolyn Lifeboat Station is a single-storey building constructed of whitewashed brick. It features a slate roof with brick copings and moulded kneelers, and the mid-gable is highlighted by a square block with a moulded cornice. The eaves slightly project over a dentilled course. The sea-facing (east) elevation has battered sides and large sliding wooden doors, while the other elevations include segmental-headed openings. The south side has four bays, with a square-headed doorway under a segmental-headed fanlight towards the west end, flanked by three recessed casement windows arranged in a descending pattern towards the seaward (east) end. The north side has four similarly detailed windows, and there is a single window in the rear (west) gable end, above which is a recessed marble memorial plaque dedicated to Ramon Cabrera, a field-marshal in the Spanish army and Count de Morella, which has been re-set from a previous lifeboat station.
Inside, the station features a tongued and grooved panelled pine ceiling supported by exposed scissor brace trusses. The original fittings, including the door mechanism, remain intact.
