Description
The Lifeboat Memorial is a tall structure made of polished granite. It has a stepped profile topped with a Celtic cross, which features recessed panels adorned with Celtic knots and a circular recess in the center with a quatrefoil design. On the front, there are brass plaques; the central plaque displays a low relief image of a lifeboat navigating a stormy sea. The upper panel lists the names of the lifeboatmen who perished, while the lower panel states: 'Erected by public subscriptions in memory of the above crew of the Rhoscolyn lifeboat who lost their lives in a gallant attempt to save the crew of the SS Timbo in Caernarfon Bay 3rd December 1920.' The central section is flanked by tall square columns, each topped with brass plaques featuring low reliefs of two mythical sea creatures facing each other. The memorial is set on a stepped rectangular plinth.
