263A-265 High Street, Linlithgow

263A-265 High Street in Linlithgow is a two-storey and attic tenement building dating from 1783, which was restored by William A Cadell, Architects, in 1978. The structure is built from sandstone rubble and harled, featuring an eaves course and ashlar margins around the swept slate-hung dormer-headed windows in the attic.

The north elevation, which serves as the entrance, is asymmetrical. It has a central two-leaf boarded door, a window to the right, and an enlarged 16-pane sash and case window to the left, with an unharled triangle above that reveals the rubble beneath. There are two windows on the first floor and two dormer-headed windows above.

The south elevation, which is the rear, has an entrance accessible through a pend in the adjoining property. It features a boarded door at ground level and a curved stone forestair with a cast-iron balustrade leading to a two-leaf boarded door at the first floor. To the left, there is a single slate-hung dormer with ashlar dressings. The building also includes 12-pane sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, ashlar coped skews, and harled stacks at the gables.
