Description

Early 19th century. Substantial 3-storey and attic, 3-bay former town house. Cream sandstone rubble, harled side and rear. Base course, lintel course to 3rd floor windows, cornice, blocking course, raised margins to ground and 2nd floor windows.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3 near symmetrical bays; door to outer right with window to centre and left; blocked windows at ground and 1st floor to outer left; 3 windows with ashlar cills with carved lozenge pattern at 1st floor; 3 windows at 2nd floor, that to outer left spaced widely.

W (SIDE) ELEVATION: harled gabled return to St John's Road.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: 2 storey wing with 2 doors to Nos 18, 20 St John's Road.

12-pane sash and case windows. Grey slates ashlar coped skews, broad harled stacks to gables, 2 modern (1990) dormers with rounded angles.

INTERIOR: remains of range at ground floor, coved ceiling with cornice and centrepiece to 1st floor room to N.
