Description

Probably early 19th century. 2-storey and attic; 3 widely spaced bays; deep on plan. Latterly in domestic use, but distinctive arrangement of door to N suggests possibly different original use, possibly craft related. Pitched slated roof; very broad ashlar skew at W gable; pair broad brick end stacks now lost. Pair small piend-roofed dormer windows widely spaced over outer bays at N and S.

N (STREET) ELEVATION: stugged ashlar courses with raised ashlar margins and neatly stugged tails; droved quoins. Symmetrical openings; entrance centre, lintel of door rising above level of ground/1st floor within, meeting cill of central 1st floor window. Cills of flanking windows at pavement level indicating part of basement. 12-pane sash and case glazing in 1979 (boarded up 1991). Boot scraper recess to left of door; small decorative cast-iron post box incorporated into W gable at left-hand side.

S (REAR) ELEVATION: random rubble (harled) with droved window dressings. Central door with 12-pane sash and case windows at ground and 1st to left, narrower 8-pane windows to 1st floor centre and right. Openings widely spaced and symmetrical except off-centre door.
