Walton Hall, Roxburgh Street, Kelso

Walton Hall, located on Roxburgh Street in Kelso, was built in 1820 and features a single-storey, square plan. The exterior is made of harled rubble with exposed dressings. The east front has a plain plinth, channeled quoins, a cornice, and a blocking course. The central part is recessed and includes a three-bay Ionic colonnade that forms a porch, with the entrance located behind it. The flanking windows have moulded architraves and cornices.

On the west front, there is a semi-octagonal bay that projects from the centre, with channeled quoins at the corners. The roof is piended and platformed, covered with slate. To the north of the house is a stable range that is connected by a dwarf wall with cast-iron railings. This stable range is single-storey with a loft and was originally four bays long, but has been extended by one bay to the north. The west front of the stable range features original windows that are now blocked and have moulded surrounds. The east front includes coach-houses on the left, with a loft door in a piended dormer at the centre and bracketted eaves. The roof is also piended and slated, topped with a central timber octagonal lantern that has a fish weathervane.
