Description
19 Lion Well Wynd in Linlithgow is an earlier 19th century house that was restored by William A Cadell Architects in 1979. It is a two-storey asymmetrical building featuring a stone forestair and a rounded southwest angle, constructed from stugged snecked cream sandstone rubble.
The north elevation, which serves as the entrance, has two bays. It includes a forestair leading to a boarded door on the outer left and a window to the right. The west elevation, facing the street, is wide and gabled with a corniced stack at the apex and a curved angle to the southwest. There is a window at ground level off-centre to the left, with another window above to the right. The curved angle on the right also has a window at ground level. A conservation plaque is located on the outer left.
The east elevation features a harled gable apex. The house has 12-pane sash and case windows and a grey slate roof with ashlar coped skew to the west.
The boundary walls consist of a cream sandstone wall with semi-circular coping along Lion Well Wynd, which includes a doorway with a boarded door. There is also a rubble wall adjoining the house at the southeast angle, which has a doorway.
