9 Royal Terrace, Linlithgow

8 Royal Terrace in Linlithgow is an earlier 19th century, two-storey, four-bay villa featuring classical details and currently sub-divided. The building is constructed from droved cream sandstone ashlar and includes base, cill and eaves courses, a cornice, and hoodmoulds over the windows.

The northern entrance elevation presents a three-bay house with a later addition of a fourth bay to the pend. The central doorpiece is adorned with a fanlight, a panelled door, and three-quarter engaged columns, topped with a cornice and a stepped blocking course. The fenestration is regular, with a slightly advanced bay on the outer right that features a segmental-headed carriage arch, a window above it, and a stepped blocking course.

The windows are fitted with plate glass in sash and case style. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a piended design, with an end stack located to the right.

The boundary walls consist of a rubble wall topped with semi-circular coping, and the gatepiers have chamfered angles with ashlar caps.
