Description
16 Lion Well Wynd in Linlithgow is a semi-detached house built in the later 19th century and restored by William A Cadell Architects in 1979. The house is two stories high and has three bays, situated on sloping ground with a lower two-story bay to the right. It is constructed from stugged and snecked cream sandstone rubble.
The entrance elevation features a fanlit door at the center, flanked by windows on either side. There are three symmetrically arranged windows on the first floor. The lower wing has a small window at ground level, which is from a blocked former garage opening, and a single window on the first floor.
The house has 12-pane sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, and ashlar coped skews, with sandstone corniced end stacks.
The boundary wall is made of rubble and has an ashlar coping on the right side, following the slope of the hill. There is a gateway with two-leaf boarded doors to the right.
