Description
Hartfield House is an earlier 19th century, two-storey, three-bay house located on Latta Street in Dumbarton. The building is constructed of painted ashlar stone.
The front features a central pilastered doorpiece that includes a recessed panelled door and a fanlight above it. The outer bays have canted ground floor windows, and there are mutule cornices above the ground floor openings. On the first floor, there are three 8-pane sash windows set within architraves. The eaves course, cornice, and low parapet extend across the side elevations. The house has corniced end stacks and a piended slate roof.
The two-bay west elevation also has windows in architraves, with cornicing at the ground floor level. At the rear, there is a low service wing that has been converted into a garage. The property is enclosed by a coped, low ashlar wall, which features modern railings and square, painted ashlar gatepiers.
