Ardenlee, 304 Main Street, Alexandria

Ardenlee is a mid to later 19th century, two-storey, three-bay cottage villa located at 304 Main Street, Alexandria. The building features painted stucco with painted margins and dressings, along with a base course and channelled quoins.

The main elevation has a gabled bay that is advanced at the centre, featuring a bipartite basket-arched window and a round-headed window in the gable above. There is a castellated porch in the re-entrant angle supported by corner columns. The outer bays at ground level also have bipartite basket-arched windows, while gabled round-headed dormers are present above. The ground floor is fitted with plate glass timber sash and case windows, while the first floor has four-pane timber sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey tiles and includes lead flashings and low coped ridge stacks.

The boundary wall and gatepiers consist of painted ashlar gatepiers with stop-chamfered arrises and corniced castellated caps. The low boundary wall is topped with ashlar slab coping.
