Workshops/Stores, Balmoral Castle

The Workshops and Stores at Balmoral Castle were built in the later and late 19th century. These three single-storey timber buildings feature gabled roofs and are located to the southeast of the stables, next to a cast-iron former ballroom. The structures have slatted timber exteriors with boarded doors, which include ventilation spacing.

The northern workshop has three sliding machinery doors on the south side, positioned at the center and left, with three fixed four-pane windows on either side. To the right is an implement shed supported by cast-iron columns and featuring two-leaf doors. The west gable end includes two doors at ground level and a loft door above, along with a loading platform. The roof is covered with purple slates and has cast-iron rooflights, with a clay ridge and a brick ridge stack.

The southern workshop is L-shaped and has a variety of window glazing on the south side, along with two doors. There is a brick stack in the re-entrant angle formed with the shorter wing that runs south. The west gable features two-leaf doors. The roof is made of graded grey slates with lead flashings and includes two metal ventilators, as well as cast-iron rooflights.

The eastern store has two-leaf doors on the west elevation and is topped with a corrugated roof.
