Description
Allt-Na-Ciste in Corgarff is a cottage likely built in the late 18th or early 19th century. It is an early and well-preserved example of a traditional single-storey, three-bay cottage, with a later timber bay added at the southeast. The rear of the building has a pronounced batter. The exterior features whitewashed render, probably lime, and deep-set openings.
The symmetrical southwest elevation, which serves as the entrance, has a small porch at the center and windows in the flanking bays. The rear elevation retains original openings and displays a heavy, somewhat bowed batter at the center and right. The northwest gable elevation includes a tiny window to the right.
The cottage has timber sash and case windows with a 4-pane glazing pattern. The roof is corrugated and includes cast iron rooflights. The chimney stacks are harled and made of ashlar, topped with cans. The gable overhang features plain bargeboarding and a braced timber detail at the gablehead.
