Description

Luib Bridge is a large segmental-arched bridge built in 1830, located near Luib Farm along the main Strathdon road. The bridge features a smaller semicircular floodwater arch, a cutwater on the dividing pier, and curved approaches. It is constructed from snecked rubble on a pink ashlar block base, with large narrow voussoirs and narrow rubble bands on the arch vaults. The bridge has a low flat-coped parapet with a simple panel at the center, which is inscribed with 'Luib Bridge / Built by Sir Charles Forbes / of Newe and Edinglassie MDCCCXXX.'
