Description
Allalogie is an earlier 19th century cottage that is single storey and has a rectangular plan with three bays. It faces east and features a symmetrical design. The principal elevation has regular fenestration, with a central door flanked by narrow rectangular windows. At the rear and south gable end, there is a single window and a small light at the gablehead, along with a slightly advanced chimney breast. The cottage retains partial remains of 12-pane sash and case windows and has a corrugated iron roof, with coped skews and gable stacks.
Inside, the central hall is lined with timber boards. To the left is a former kitchen that includes a blocked range recess at the gable end, as well as a timber-lined box bed and press in the center. To the right of the hall is a former parlour that features a cast-iron fireplace.
Adjacent to the cottage, to the south, is a later 19th century single storey gabled byre with a rectangular plan. It is constructed of coursed granite and has raised concrete skews and a corrugated iron roof, with boarded timber doors on the east elevation.
In front of the cottage, there is a low rubble garden wall that frames a small former kail yard.
