Description
Milton of Logie is a late 18th-century, single-story former mill building. It has a roughly rectangular plan with a gabled shape, and is oriented north-south. The exterior is constructed of rubble granite with squared granite courses for the quoins. A low, rectangular entrance on the east side is centrally located, and descends to a lowered floor level. A boarded loft mezzanine level is believed to be original. The roof is covered with grey slates and lead flashing.
This is a plain but significant vernacular building, notable for its remarkable survival in an unaltered condition. It has recently been used as a joiner's workshop and toolshed; the original beaten earth floor remains preserved beneath a layer of gravel. Milton of Logie is situated within the Cairngorms National Park.
