Description
5 Wheatpark Road in Lanark is a building designed by William Leiper in 1882, originally a cottage on the Wheatpark estate. It is constructed in the Arts and Crafts style and features a single storey with an attic. The building is made of random rubble with ashlar quoins and has a Z-plan layout. The central block, which faces west, has two bays and includes one projecting bay on the west side, a door, and one window on the east side, along with two small dormers that have swept roofs. The roof is steeply pitched and gabled to the south. The south elevation features two bipartite windows and one single light, all of which now have modern rendered margins, with one dormer above. The roof is covered with slate and has red ridge tiles, and there are two stacks with simple set-back chamfered caps.
