Description
Mansefield House is an early 19th-century villa that underwent refronting in the mid-19th century. It is a two-storey building with three windows and an extensive rear range. The exterior features painted stucco, rubble gable-end walls, and droved ashlar quoins. The central door is framed by a projecting Ionic portico, supported by two fluted columns and two engaged columns. On either side of the entrance are two-storey canted bays with cornices above the windows. The main cornice is topped with a balustrade, and the roof has straight skews and end stacks, covered with slate.
At the rear, there is a two-storey wing made of snecked rubble with stugged ashlar long and short dressings. This wing originally had two doors, one of which has been converted into a window, along with two windows to the right and two windows on the first floor. All windows, except for the one replacing the door, feature astragals. Additionally, there is a single-storey range of offices to the north and east, which forms a courtyard.
