Description
118-122 Quarry Street is a commercial building from the later 19th century, featuring two storeys and an attic on a gusset site, along with a single-storey ground floor extension. The building is constructed of cream sandstone ashlar and topped with a slate mansard roof. The ground floor has a cornice and extends to a low parapet at the flat-roofed extension. It includes a plain red sandstone wallhead frieze, a corniced balustrade, and massive corniced wallhead stacks that incorporate windows. The windows consist of single and bipartite designs with plate glass sash and case glazing, and there are segmental 6-pane sash and case dormers.
On the Quarry Street elevation, there are modern shopfronts at the ground floor, which extend to the left. The first floor features two single windows and two bipartite windows, with a wallhead stack flanked by dormers. The New Cross elevation also has a modern shopfront that is advanced at the ground floor, with two bipartite windows on the first floor and wallhead stacks flanked by dormers. The interior has not been seen.
